Fresh from setting the all-time record for goals, to go along with the all-time marks in points and assists that he set last season, Mississauga’s John Tavares, witnessed a new record as a spectator.
Philadelphia Wings’ Geoff Snider scored the fastest goal in NLL history just five seconds into the game, beating Bandits’ goalie Mike Thompson.
As it turned out, the goal mattered in the end as the Wings defeated the Bandits 15-14 in overtime, despite Tavares’ seven points.
With his two goals and five assists, Tavares leads all Bandits’ scorers with 24 points in four games.
The Bandits, who now sport a 2-2 record, will travel north to Calgary for a game against the Roughnecks at the Sears Centre.
The Bandits return to the HSBC Arena on Saturday, Feb. 16 for a 7:30 p.m. game against the Minnesota Swarm.
