Prime Minister a wedding crasher

A real-life drama that could've passed for a sequel to the movie, Wedding Crashers, unfolded Saturday in Mississauga — and Prime Minister Stephen Harper played the lead role.
Jaws dropped, literally, when Harper strolled nonchalantly — and most unexpectedly — into a wedding reception at the Glen Erin Inn, where the Mississauga newlyweds and their guests were celebrating the big day.
The prime minister was at the inn to meet volunteers and staff working for Mississauga-Erindale MP Bob Dechert.
When Dechert suggested they make an impromptu stop to wish the couple well, Harper gamely agreed.
Cooksville residents Bruce Monaghan, 51, and Dianne Brister, 44, said their uninvited guest proved to be the perfect icing on the cake.
“Whether I voted for this guy or not, he's down-to-earth, likeable and a genuine person,” said Monaghan, adding Harper shook hands with guests, signed the guest book and joked with the ring bearers.
And as Harper signed the guest book, he joked he was perhaps the only one who came bearing no gifts.
“He made our day,” said Brister, a private in the Royal Regiment of Canada's reserve force.
