Canadian Tire stores in Mississauga have raised more than $2,000 in the Canadian Tire JumpStart for Heart campaign.
February was Heart Month and customers purchased $2 hearts to support the cause. JumpStart is a program that helps children in financial need participate in physical activities such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming.
According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, more than one quarter of Canadian children and youth are either overweight or obese. In fact, more than half of Canadian children aged five to 17 aren’t active enough for optimal health and development.
