West Credit Secondary School Horticultural students have been nursing their prize pupils along to perfection and will be showing off their best plants this Saturday when the Meadowvale school hosts a family fun day and plant sale.
"The plant sale is a wonderful opportunity to demostrate the great strides that students have made in the horticultue program," said Marcel Giraldi, principal at West Credit. "In addition to the sale of plants, we will be showcasing our landscaping and construction students' handli-work. Visitors can also enjoy tasty barbecue treats prepared and served by West Credit students."
The plant sale, which runs from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., is the culmination of a year's worth of learning horticultural theory and then putting it into practice for students.
The programs prepare students to enter the workforce after they graduate this June.
Among the products available will be annual bedding planst such as geraniums, herbs, a wide selection of perennials, pond plants and fish and sapling trees.
West Credit's Family Fun Day and plant sale will be held behind the school, at 6325 Montevideo Rd., just west of Erin Mills Pkwy.
