May 8, 2008 06:12 PM - Dear Editor:
This year, Saint Elizabeth Health Care celebrates its 100th year of serving the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals and families in their homes and communities.
Throughout the past century, our organization has provided vision and leadership to the growth and advancement of home and community-based  healthcare in Canada – whether we’re pioneering new programs, testing the latest technologies, shaping healthcare policy or developing better ways to deliver care.
During National Nursing Week (May 12-16), SEHC would like to recognize and thank our nurses for their commitment to heal, educate, comfort and support people in their communities. Over the past year, SEHC has achieved many great things, including recognition as one of Canada’s 50 Best Employers and a Best Practice Spotlight Organization. This would not have been possible without the energy and excellence of our nurses, who touch the hearts and lives of countless people every day.
In every role at every level, you will find our nurses. From leaders to educators to clinical specialists, the nurses at Saint Elizabeth Health Care dare to make a difference every day. They not only provide the best care for communities and families across the province, they're transforming the landscape of healthcare – making client-centred care a reality.
Over the decades, we have demonstrated both an incredible spirit and willingness to transform ourselves to meet the changing needs and realities of the healthcare system and the people we serve. At the same time, we remain grounded by our tradition of respect for human dignity and calling to serve others in times of trouble and need.
Building on nearly 100 years of wisdom and experience in home and community care, SEHC employs 75 nurses throughout the Mississauga Halton LHIN area and has been serving the local community since 1928.
