A crossing guard was taken to hospital after she was clipped by a car
Friday morning at a Cooksville area intersection. Peel Regional Police
have information suggesting a medical condition
might have caused the driver of a Mazda 3 to lose control of the car
and strike the crossing guard, just before 9 a.m.,
at The Queensway and Cliff Rd. The car then swerved off the road and crashed into a ditch, police said.
"We will be investigating information that suggests there may have been a pre-existing medical condition," said Peel Cst. Adam Minnion.
The crossing guard, the driver and a passenger in the car were taken to Trillium Health Centre as a precaution.
Police don't yet know if charges will be laid.
