It was a small preview of the excitement to come.
A sneak preview of Carassauga Festival of Cultures was on display today at the South Common Centre.
The open house featured dancers wearing vibrant costumes, a small sampling of the delicacies from the region and information about the upcoming festival, scheduled to take place May 23-25.
Jenniffer Bolton, vice chairperson of Carassauga said today's performance gives the community an opportunity to sample the culture and ethnic cuisine of some of the countries participating in the festival.
“If people really don't know what Carassauga is, seeing a preview entices the customer to be able to understand a little bit more of what we do,” Bolton said. “This is just a tiny bit of what people can expect.”
Passports to the festival cost $8 in advance and $ 10 at the door. Mississauga Transit has free shuttle service to and from many of the pavillions.
Passports can be purchased at select Winners and Homesense locations throughout the GTA or by visiting www.carassauga.com.
At the preview today, BMO Bank of Montreal announced their partnership as a sponsor for this year's Carassauga.
