May 11, 2008 04:24 PM - Two hockey players from Mississauga were celebrating victory when the Central Hockey League's (CHL) championship series ended in Colorado on the weekend.
Jamie and Jason Visser play for the champion Arizona Sundogs, who completed a sweep of the Colorado Eagles with a 6-3 victory at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland Colorado.
The win earned the second-year franchise its first Ray Miron President’s Cup and denied the defending champs their third cup in a best-of-seven series sweep.
Visser was named third star in Friday night's final game with three assists.
The Sundogs are an affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes.
Both Visser boys began their career with the Port Credit Hockey Association, where their parents, Shelly and Jack, are still involved. They were recognized for their work in the Mississauga Hockey League at the annual banquet on Saturday night.
