May 12, 2008 11:50 AM - The sentencing of a former teacher and pastor convicted of sexually assaulting a Mississauga private school student has been re-scheduled for Aug. 6.
Paul Tuck, 45, of Brampton, was supposed to be sentenced last month, but issues arose involving a pre-sentence report.
Tuck was found guilty in January of one count of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old student in 2006 while he was a teacher and pastor at Mississauga Christian Academy. He has since resigned.
He was found not guilty of internet luring and invitation to sexual touching in relation to internet chats he had with the girl.
Tuck admitted to touching the girl's bare thigh while holding her hand, kissing her on the cheek and inappropriately touching her upper body with his elbow on several occasions, court heard.
There were no allegations of sexual intercourse.
In finding Tuck guilty, Justice James Blacklock said Tuck was "deluding" himself when he told police the internet conversations were not of a sexual nature.
Blacklock pointed to one internet conversation in particular in which Tuck asked the girl if she had liked it when he held her hand and touched her thigh.
