To help celebrate the Mississauga School of Music's 20th anniversary, students performed this past Sunday at a gala concert at the Central Library.
The concert featured the school's top festival award-winners as well as its Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) silver medalists.
Yanick Allwood, 16, provided a rendition of Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G Minor. His brother, Rashaan, a four-time RCM silver medal winner, also performed.
The violin ensemble performed light-hearted pieces and had a playful stage presence that was capped off with a choreographed exit. Aaron Khan and Victor Tat earned a chorus of bravos from the crowd.
The concert also raised $1,190 for World Vision Canada's Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund, which is providing aid for victims in China.
