June 26, 2008 09:12 AM - Trillium Health Centre Mississauga is celebrating Canadian Multiculturalism Day tomorrow with a special menu and samples of different foods in the cafeteria.
Staff members are also being encouraged to wear traditional garments to work to celebrate diversity.
In addition, several community partners will be on hand to offer information to staff and patients about diversity issues and services.
Organized by the hospital's Diversity Services and Health Information and Wellness Centre, the event aims to promote awareness and enhance the healthcare experience of a diverse patient population.
The federal government has designated June 27 of each year Canadian Multiculturalism Day to celebrate diversity, equality and mutual respect.
