The Cross Currents Indo-Canadian International Arts group has organized an afternoon of multicultural poetry this Sunday in Mississauga.
Kavitaon Ki Ek Shaam, which translates to An Evening of Poems, will feature readings of poetry in Hindi and Urdu languages.
"It will be a different experience altogether as Hindi and Urdu poetry is read in a very different style," Cross Currents event director Meena Chopra wrote in an e-mail to The News. "There's a lot of literature that's developing in these languages in Canada. And all of these things are happening at a very core level within the different communities."
The event, which runs from 3:30-5:30 p.m., is being held at 71 Glenn Hawthorne Blvd. Snacks will be served.
