July 3, 2008 12:21 PM - Mississauga's Keith Ng graduated from high school with a near perfect 98.83 per cent grade average, making him Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board's top student.
The St. Francis Xavier Secondary School student has accepted an entrance scholarship to the University of Toronto where he is enrolled in the physical and mathematical sciences program.
Ng is one of more than 1,800 Ontario scholars from the Peel Catholic board who attained an average of 80 per cent or higher in their top six Grade 12 courses for 2007-08.
“These students are to be recognized for their exceptional academic achievements,” said John Kostoff, director of education. “Marks like these represent many hours of perseverance and dedication. These qualities should serve them well as they continue their academic endeavours through the post-secondary level and beyond.”
“On behalf of the board, I want to say how proud we are of these exceptional students,” said Catholic Board Chair Bruno Iannicca. “Their achievements are examples of the many great things that take place in our schools. We wish them, and all our students, the very best in their future endeavours.”
