July 4, 2008 09:00 AM - A 24-year-old Mississauga man was stabbed last night and sent to hospital after a business transaction went bad.
Peel Regional Police said the stabbing happened at about 11 p.m. after two men arrived at an apartment building on Lolita Gardens, near Cawthra Rd. and Dundas St. E., for a pre-arranged business meeting. For unknown reasons, police said, the deal went sour and one of the participants stabbed the other.
The victim managed to fight off his assailant and fled the scene. After arriving home, he drove himself to the hospital for medical attention.
His injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening. The victim is recovering in hospital.
Police continue to investigate.
Anyone with information is asked to call 905-453-2121 or 1-800-222-TIPS.
