City Centre rocks and rolls to Freddy and the Flames

Impromptu Elvis aka Dave Maloney steals the show for one number while Freddy Vette & the Flames sing a Presley tune at the My Mississauga concert last night. Belleville group Freddy Vette and the Flames revived the '50s to the delight of hundreds of Mississaugians in Civic Square.

Close to 500 people turned out last night to see hear Freddy Vette & the Flames rock the crowd with hits from the 1950s, including artists such as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Tomorrow, drummer Jay Boehmer and his band are back with a tribute to the music of Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee. The show, which features guest vocalists Michelle Berting and Christopher Plock, starts at 7 p.m.

My Mississauga is a series of free events designed to get people to the City Centre. It runs throughout the summer and features concerts, performances, sports, yoga, theatre, movie screenings and festivals. Concerts start at 7:30 p.m.
