Peel Regional Police have closed off a section of Queen St. as members of the force's Major Collision Bureau investigate the collision that occurred just after 7:30 a.m.
Witnesses reported the cyclist was struck by a garbage truck at the intersection of Queen and Ellen Sts., on the north end of the strip.
Police have taken the truck driver back to their Derry Rd. facility for questioning.
Meanwhile, the cyclist has been rushed to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto with life-threatening injuries.
