It’s 7-Eleven’s 81st birthday next Friday, and the convenience store chain will be handing out 1,000 free 7.11-ounce Slurpees at each of its stores.
There are three stores in Mississauga, which means 3,000 Slurpees are up for grabs.
The stores are located at 2330 Battleford Rd., 3965 Thomas St. and 6980 Lisgar Dr.
The giveaway is one of the largest single-day product giveaways in Canadian
history, say 7-Eleven officials.
The Slurpee is a bit of a Canadian icon — Canadians drink some 2.35 million Slurpees per month, or more than 28 million Slurpees per year.
For the ninth consecutive year, Winnipeg has won the Slurpee Cup for being the Slurpee Capital of the World. To win the title, a city must have the highest average of Slurpee beverages consumed per store.
