Mississauga logistics service provider Schenker of Canada has promoted Brian Martin to vice-president of sales and marketing.
In his new position, Martin will be responsible for managing the company's national sales team and leading Canadian business development initiatives for its services, warehouse and freight-forwarding solutions. He'll also lead the company's field sales coordination, inside sales programs and marketing.
"Schenker's logistics business continues to grow at a record pace, a direct result of the efforts of team members like Brian Martin," said Schenker chief operating officer Claude Germain. "Our trans-border ground services lead our logistics growth, linking many blue-chip U.S.-based suppliers with Canadian retailers and distributors. Our warehouse operations also continue to expand and we look forward to Brian's leadership in sales and marketing to keep things rolling at a rapid pace."
Martin, who's previous position with the company was director of integrated logistics, joined Schenker in 2003. Prior to that, he was employed by KBL, General Motors and Exxon.
Martin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.
