It's a ball hockey tournament with a twist that has caught the imagination of teams across Canada and the United States.
The fourth annual Salaam Cup Ball Hockey tournament, which has become an eye-catcher among Muslim youths, will be held this weekend at Malton Arena.
Organizers are expecting teams from Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and the United States to square off, beginning tomorrow night and running through Sunday.
Competitors range in age from 18 to 40 and it's being called the year's largest Muslim sporting event scheduled for this area.
Ball hockey appears to be making great strides within the Muslim community with the introduction of the Pakistan Ball Hockey Federation, which features a national team competing in tournaments around the world.
