Graham Baillargeon, who plays out of Trafalgar Golf and Country Club, is only one over par after three rounds, but that leaves him seven shots behind tournament leader Dave Bunker of Woodbridge.
Baillargeon shot an even-par 71 yesterday over the 6,516-yard Islington Golf Club course, putting him in a five-way tie for 11th place.
Jonathan Kim-Moss, a member of Caledon Woods Golf Club, played himself out of contention yesterday when he stumbled home with a six-over-par 77, dropping into a three-way tie for 27th place with a three-round total of 221, eight over par.
Michael Zizek, from the York Downs Golf and Country Club, shot 75 yesterday, but he's well down the leader board with a three-round total of 11-over-par 224. Zizek shares 39th place with three others.
Meanwhile, yesterday wasn't a good day for the remaining three Mississaugans in the IG provincial Women's Amateur Championship in Belleville.
Michelle Lee, Stephanie Simich and Brogan McKinnon were not able to break 80 in the final on the 6,104-yard, par-72 Bay of Quinte Country Club course and finished well down in the final standings.
Lee, 16, a member of Caledon Woods Golf Club, had two double bogeys and six bogeys against just one birdie for a final-round 81 and a three-day total of 230, 14 over par. That left her in a three-way tie for eighth.
Simich, who's not affiliated with any golf club, shot 85 in yesterday's final round, giving her a three-round total of 20-over-par 236 and a tie for 23rd.
Simich had a miserable day, posting three triple bogeys, one double bogey and a pair of bogeys en route to her 85.
McKinnon, 13, a member of Rattlesnake Point Golf Club, shot 81 in the final round and was 21 over par for the championship. She did have two birdies, but also carded two double bogeys and seven bogeys.
