Just over 13,000 people came out to BMO Field to watch the Canadians square-off with Brazil in a friendly. The match was the final tune-up for Team Canada plays before departing for the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.
The Canadians jumped out to a 1-nil lead in the 53rd minute off a strike from Christine Sinclair. The Brazilians, one of the premier soccer playing countries in the world, managed to draw even in the 81st minute off a scramble in front of the Canadian net.
It was Sinclair's 92nd goal for Canada in international play. Sinclair is also a two-time nominee as FIFA's women's player of the year.
The game was the first on Canadian soil for the women's team since 2006 when they played China twice in Newfoundland.
At the Olympics, Canada will compete in a preliminary-round pool with China, Argentina and Sweden.
