A cyclist has been rushed to hospital this evening after being struck by an SUV in Clarkson.
The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Royal Windsor Dr., just west of Southdown Rd.
The male cyclist was transported to Credit Valley Hospital with broken ribs and abdominal injuries. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The SUV remained on scene and the driver was questioned by investigators.
Peel Regional Police haven't decided whether to lay charges.
Westbound Lakeshore Rd. was closed for nearly an hour.
This accident comes less than 10 days after 77-year-old Streetsville resident Tony Mota was struck and killed by a truck while cycling home on Queen St. Charges are pending in that case.
