Peel Regional Police arrested a 44-year-old Woodstock, Ont. man this afternoon after a passenger claimed to have a gun on board a flight bound for Mississauga's Pearson International Airport from Afghanistan.
Heavily-armed tactical officers rushed to the airport at about 4:30 p.m.
Police arrested a man when the aircraft, a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight, touched the ground, but found no weapons.
Police said the man, who was returning to Toronto from Afghanistan via Amsterdam, told a flight attendant he had a gun after the two became embroiled in an argument.
David Nadalin has been charged with endangering safety of an aircraft and interfering with crew members, mischief and assault.
