A comedic tale of a woman in her 30s looking for the perfect match, with plenty of interference from family and friends, comes to the Living Arts Centre for a pair of shows tomorrow.
The show, 30 Dates, is penned by Fenulla Jiwani, who also stars in the production. It's being presented in the RBC Theatre. Show times are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The show's protagonist, Priti, is a woman on a mission to find her one true love in life. Nearing the age of 35, Priti believes her biological clock is ticking and she's hearing about the need to find a suitable husband almost incessantly from her parents.
Desperate to avoid an arranged marriage, and absolutely terrified about the prospect of spending the rest of her life alone, she goes on an intense dating spree to find Mr. Right.
As the playbill reads, who said finding true love was easy?
The production also features performances by Garbriel Grey, Shafik Kamani, Husein Madhavji, Danya Nearon, Patrick Whalen and Richard Young. Rosanna Saracino is the director.
The show debuted at the Dancemakers Centre for Creation in Toronto earlier this summer.
Tickets cost $19.50, $21.50 and $25.
