Starting in September, South America's LAN Airlines will begin offering flights from Pearson International Airport to Santiago, Chile.
The flights to the Chilean capital will run five times each week and are expected to begin Sept. 3. Passengers will be flown on Boeing 767 aircraft.
The airline will set up shop in Terminal 3.
"The GTAA is always delighted to help introduce new air services into Toronto," said Greater Toronto Airports Authority president and CEO Lloyd McCoomb. "This announcement brings the number of air carriers serving Pearson to a total of 77 and further demonstrates the region's ability to attract international air travellers."
LAN Airlines is based out of Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago and is billed as one of the largest in South America, offering flights to Latin America, the United States, the Caribbean and Europe.
