July 22, 2008 03:30 PM - Peel Regional Police are investigating Mississauga's ninth murder of the year following the discovery this afternoon of a woman's body in an Erin Mills park.
Police are awaiting forensic test results to officially confirm the identity of the victim, whose body was found just after 1 p.m. in a heavily treed area of Windy Hollow Park, located east of Erin Mills Pkwy., just off The Collegeway.
However, homicide investigators strongly suspect the body is that of Karina Neff, 31, who went missing Monday night from her Erin Mills area home while walking her dog.
Neff, who has an intellectual disability, left her Broadhollow Gate home, near The Collegeway and Mississauga Rd., at about 10 p.m. to take the family pet for a walk.
When the dog returned alone, Neff's family called police.
Homicide officers remain on the scene of the grisly discovery, and have cordoned off the park.
