July 22, 2008 08:55 PM - Mississauga's Tiffany Cameron helped the Canadian women’s under-17 soccer squad to an undefeated record in round-robin action at the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) U-17 championship in Trinidad and Tobago.
Finishing first in their group, the Canadians outscored their opponents 11-4, defeating Puerto Rico 3-0, Jamaica 4-3 and Mexico 4-1.
Cameron, 16, led the junior squad with four goals.
On Thursday, Canada will face the second-place team from Group A (either the U.S., Trinidad or Costa Rica) in one semi-final.
The winner will not only advance to the championship match on Sunday, but will also secure one of three CONCACAF spots in the inaugural FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, hosted by New Zealand in October.
