Although the Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival is still weeks away, organizers are putting out the call for volunteers.
The festival, which is celebrating its 10th year, needs volunteers for a variety of responsibilities including setting up and tearing down the festival, working in hospitality and selling merchandise and tickets.
The popular music festival runs Sept. 5-7 in Port Credit.
Volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, a weekend pass to the festival, a discount of Southside Shuffle merchandise and access to hospitality (which includes one meal per six-hour shift) plus an invitation to the volunteer appreciation party.
Those interested can contact Brenda Armstrong at 905-271-4247 or 647-237-4247 or by e-mailing sssvolunteer@sympatico.ca.
Average White Band, The Funk Brothers and Downchild Blues Band are a few of the dozens of acts performing at the festival.
