The head of Peel Police's homicide squad has confirmed that a body found in an Erin Mills park yesterday is that of missing Mississauga resident Karina Neff.
Insp. Norm English said the body showed obvious signs of trauma.
English would not say who found the body or if police have any suspects.
Neff, a 31-year-old with an intellectual disability, went missing Monday night when she left her home in the Erin Mills area to walk the dog, around 10 p.m.
Her body was discovered the next day in a dense, wooded area in Windy Hollow Park, in the Erin Mills Pkwy and South Millway area around 12: 30 p.m.
Her death is Peel’s 16th homicide of 2008 and the ninth in Mississauga.
An autopsy is scheduled for this afternoon.
