Peel Regional Police say the student was making her way to school about 8 a.m. when she was accosted by three other young women who began attacking her for her personal items.
The victim was pulled by the hair as the thieves tried to grab her book bag. The victim dumped her coffee on one of her attackers to try to stop them.
The thieves made off with a textbook, a binder and a pencil case. They ran from the scene on foot towards the bus loop at nearby South Common Mall.
Police are seeking three suspects, all three of them black females.
The first is described as five-ft.-five with a heavy build and black hair in a bun. She was wearing a dark grey shirt and dark blue jeans.
The second suspect was five-ft-six and slim. She wore a grey sweat shirt and blue jeans, which will have a coffee stain on them.
The third victim was five-ft-five and slim, wearing a black shirt and black jeans. Her black hair was also pulled into a bun.
