The 18th annual Port Credit In-Water Boat Show takes place next weekend at Port Credit Harbour Marina.
The show features more than 100 new and used boats and a vast array of displays featuring marine equipment, insurance, finance, charters and sail makers. Government boating agencies will be on site.
Boaters can write their operator’s exam at the show, and relax afterwards to the sounds of Bill Springate (Friday) and Chuck Jackson’s Blues & Jazz band (Saturday and Sunday).
Speakers include Paul and Sheryl Shard, hosts of the TV series, Distant Shores; Deb Cantrell, author of Changing Course: A Woman’s Guide to Choosing the Cruising Life; and Doug Dawson, author of Buy a Boat With Confidence.
An addition this year is the charity consignment tent. Sponsored by The Store Mason’s Chandlery, boaters can drop off their used sailing gear. Proceeds go to local junior sailing programs and Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.
“This is a boat show for boaters put on by boaters,” said show founder Lori Mason. “We bring everyone together from the boating community. The attendees tell us they have a great time meeting new and old friends, buying boats and marine products, and simply having fun messing about in boats.”
Gates open at 10 a.m. each morning and close Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. General admission is $8, and a weekend pass is $15. Children under 15 are admitted free of charge.
