Woman fined for not filing tax returns

A Mississauga woman was fined $4,000 in Ontario Court of Justice for failing to file her income tax returns.
The court found Deborah Laporte guilty March 29 on two charges stemming from the fact that she did not file tax returns.
The Canada Revenue Agency is reminding individuals that the deadline for filing personal income tax returns is April 30. Self-employed individuals and their spouses have until June 15 to file their 2007 returns.
