Growling will get you nowhere

A man from Mississauga who police say bared his teeth and growled like an animal when officers approached him has been charged with being drunk in a public place in a cottage country town near Georgian Bay.
Grey County Ontario Provincial Police officers were patrolling on Sykes St. in Meaford on Tuesday when two people flagged them down. They had been trying to help a man who was struggling to get to his feet after falling on the sidewalk.
As the officers approached the man, he grunted and growled at them, then swore and demanded that they take him home.
Instead, officers took him to the police station, where he refused to get out of the cruiser.
The 46-year-old man was charged with public intoxication. He was released from custody yesterday morning after being held overnight.
