Brian Beauchamp’s career got a major confidence boost over the weekend.
Representing Canada at the Canadian Submission Expo in Brampton in a dual meet against the U.S. in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, the Mississaugan defeated veteran fighter Angelo Popofski from Detroit in a black belt super fight.
“Angelo is a very talented and experienced BJJ fighter,” said Beauchamp. “I had to use all my experience and still won only by a slim margin. But beating my first BJJ Black belt leaves me feeling good today.”
Beauchamp, a member of Mississauga’s Team Kombat Arts, is a third degree black belt in judo, a BJJ purple belt, and a former member of the Canadian National Judo Team.
