Edmonton-based software company Intuit Canada, which recently opened its Global Business Division in Mississauga, is one of 10 companies being praised for their corporate culture.
The maker of QuickTax, a popular income tax software, and Quickbooks, an accounting software for small businesses, is among other Canadian companies on the not-ranked list complied by Toronto-based search firm Waterstone Human Capital.
Mississauga-based Purolator Courier also made the list.
According to Waterstone, 82 per cent of executives say corporate culture has a strong, or very strong, impact on their company's performance.
The performance of the 10 companies in the survey are 63 per cent higher than that of the 60 largest public companies in Canada listed on the S&P/TSX 60 in relation to the three-year average revenue growth and asset growth of the companies.
Locally, Intuit Canada boasts a 70,000 square feet, four-storey facility that features nap rooms, an exercise area and a yoga studio for its Mississauga employees.
The other companies Boston Pizza International Inc. (Richmond, BC); Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts (Toronto); McDonald's Restaurants (Toronto); RBC (Toronto); Shoppers Drug Mart (Toronto); Tim Hortons (Oakville, Ont.) and Yellow Pages Group (Montreal).

President of the Global Business Division Alex Lintner poses for a picture in the "Nap Room" as Intuit, the maker of popular tax software QuickTax, held the opening of its new facility in Mississauga earlier this month. Intuit cites research that afternoon naps increase productivity and reduces heart problems as the reason for providing rooms for employees to nap in. The company was recently praised for its corporate culture.
