A passing motorist spotted the scaffolding hanging at a precarious angle, assumed the two window cleaners were in trouble and called police.
When police and firefighters arrived at the five-storey corporate office building at 2700 Matheson Blvd. E. at around 8:25 a.m., it turned out that there was no emergency at all.
The cleaners had intentionally tilted their scaffold unit at an angle to reach a spot that was particularly difficult to reach.
