One-time Philip Pocock Secondary School student Theo Davis is a member of the Canadian men’s basketball team that is set to compete at the FISU World University Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
Davis is a 21-year-old, 6-foot-9 forward, who is currently on a basketball scholarship at Gonzaga University with the Bulldogs in Spokane, Washington.
Team Canada will open the tournament against their hosts from Thailand on Tuesday at 5:30 a.m. EST.
They will then take on New Zealand the following day at 9:30 p.m. EST.
These will be Canada’s lone preliminary games as each group consists of three teams.
“As we finish our training phase in Vancouver we are very excited about the group of players we have assembled to participate in the FISU games in Thailand,” said head coach Chris O’Rourke. “We feel the chemistry is coming together and that we have the tools to make a big impact in Bangkok.”
