Tigers capture silver

The slumbering Tigers woke up on time to capture silver at the Brampton Invitational Softball Tournament over the weekend.
The Mississauga North Tigers Clement Bantam 2 Rep girls team rebounded from losing their first two games against Brampton and Pickering to win their next four contests and reach the championship final on Sunday.
The Tigers defeated Scarborough, Guelph and Pickering, before upsetting Brampton 4-3 in the semi-finals in come-from-behind fashion.
Trailing Brampton 3-0, the Tigers mounted a comeback led by the offensive production of Misty Hammel.
The surprising comeback, however, came to a dramatic halt when the Tigers lost to Guelph in the final.
Members of the silver-medal winning team include, Allie Hipgrave, Lauren Renaud, Jackie Taylor, Kristi Uyesugi, Avery Acton, Jackie Bryant, Melissa Chen, Amanda Gauvin, Callan Long and Sammy Prenger.
The team is coached by Jerome Clements, and assisted by Mike Hammel and Claire Long.
