Author 'Killing' time at Coles tomorrow
Fiction author David Wickes will launch his latest book, the fifth in a series about a homicide detective, with a signing Saturday afternoon at Erin Mills Town Centre.
Wickes, a former fighter pilot in the Canadian Air Force who also worked as an importer and distributor of hair care products after eight years of service, will appear at Coles to promote Killing Affair. The event runs from 2:30-5:30 p.m.
The thriller follows detective Jack Peterson's attempts to track down a serial killer. After each kill, the murderer leaves a letter as a clue to taunt Peterson.
Hampering the detective's investigation is a stunningly beautiful television reporter who's torn between pursuing Peterson and blowing the lid off the case with a series of stories.
Other titles in the series include Killing Time, Killing Cold, Killing Kind and Killing Mind. Wickes re-issued his first novel, Killing Time, after it sold out.
"A number of people say to me, 'I don't buy a book unless I have the entire set,'" Wickes previously told The News. "I'm doing over 100 signings every year, but the last two years in particular, people would come in and ask where is (the first book) and they would ask when they could get it."
